Our servers strictly run on the Windows Platform.

Windows Server 2008 includes all the functionality needed today from a Windows server operating system - such as security, reliability, availability, and scalability. In addition, Microsoft has improved and extended the Windows server operating systems to incorporate the benefits of Microsoft .NET for connecting information, people, systems, and devices.

To increase web server security, Internet Information Services (IIS) 7.0 is configured for maximum security out of the box. IIS 7.0 and Windows Server 2008 provide the most dependable, productive, connected, and integrated web server solution with fault tolerance, requesting queuing, application health monitoring, automatic application recycling, caching, and more.

Bandwidth

How is bandwidth measured?

We measure bandwidth at the port onto which your server is connected to the Public Network. This means, all traffic to and from the server is counted. When you establish a VPN connection directly to the server using our Private Network, the bandwidth accrued there is not counted.

How is extra bandwidth billed?

Bandwidth overages are billed at $1.00 per GB. We give you tools to actively monitor your bandwidth usage from within the Unity control panel.

Disk Space

Disk Space refers to the amount of server disk storage your account is allocated. This space is used to store your files, graphics etc. and all other files that make up your website.

We provide a generous amount of storage space on our servers. With even our smallest offering we give you ample storage space to store thousands of web pages.

We put no restrictions on the content you store in your storage space as long as it does not break US law or infringe on any copyright.

All of our servers utilize 10k RPM Raptor or SCSI storage drives to provide instant access to your hosted data. Additionally you can be assured that your data is protected with the included enterprise data backup service.

Data Backup

Server Intellect is proud to offer Enterprise Data Backup to all of our hosting clients. The Server Intellect Enterprise Data backup solution offers a robust scalable platform on which we can provide our hosting customers with data protection and disaster recovery.

This enterprise solution works seamlessly in the background to protect your data. At each scheduled backup time the backup server will connect to the agent and transfer any changes that have occurred to the backup server. It does this without causing any disruption to any of your sites or services. The backup agent is aware of what files have changed on the server since the last backups and only transfers that data. This makes your server backups not only faster but also less resource intensive.

The backup agent software also supports open file backups, and includes support for the Volume Shadow copy service. This means your critical applications can be backed up while they are online and active. Server Intellect employs the data center solution which uses a number of separate servers to handle and process the backup requests ensuring that the load is distributed evenly and that backups are conducted quickly.

IIS 7 Services

Internet Information Services (IIS) is a set of internet-based services for web servers running Microsoft Windows.

IIS 7.0 takes the speed, reliability, and security of the IIS 6.0 codebase and turns it into a highly extensible and manageable Web server platform powerful enough to run Web 2.0 applications. It is the most ambitious Microsoft Web server to date, featuring a number of architectural improvements over its predecessors.

At the core of IIS 7.0 is a modular Web server, comprised of over 40 features that can be assembled into small-footprint servers optimized for a specific role in your application topology. These features are built on top of an extensibility layer that allows developers to extend or replace virtually any aspect of the server, in native code or Microsoft® .NET Framework.

IIS 7.0 offers extensibility throughout its runtime, management, and operational features to help you build complete solutions for your specific needs. It features a configuration system that enables fully delegated management of sites and makes xcopy deployment of Web applications a reality. The new management APIs and diagnostic features make deployment, administration, and troubleshooting of the server significantly easier and more convenient than ever before.

With every domain name we allow you to share our True Encryption 128-bit SSL Server Certificate. Secure Sockets Layer, SSL, is the standard security technology for creating an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This 'link' ensures that all data passed between the web server and browser remain private and secure. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites in the protection of their online transactions with their customers.
