Domain Names

At Server Intellect we allow you to host more than one website in your hosting package. Each domain has a separate IIS Web Root, Email Accounts and FTP Accounts.

You can automatically create and modify each domain name individually through the control panel. This feature is useful if you own more than one website or would like to host an associate's website.

Domain Aliases

A Domain Alias allows multiple domain names to point to the same website. The best way to explain Domain Aliases is through example:

If www.yourdomain1.com is your main domain and you made www.yourdomain2.com a Domain Alias in your control panel, when someone types www.yourdomain2.com in their browser the same site as www.yourdomain1.com will come up.

www.yourdomain1.com and www.yourdomain2.com share the same web root. Any email sent to your Domain Alias will be automatically forwarded to the parent domain. You can create, delete and modify domain aliases right from the Server Intellect Unity control panel.

Sub Domains

In DNS hierarchy, a subdomain is a domain that is part of a larger domain name. DNS hierarchy consists of the root-level domain at the top, underneath which are the top-level domains, followed by second-level domains and finally subdomains.

For example, in the domain name msdn.microsoft.com, "msdn" is a subdomain of the larger second-level domain "Microsoft.com."

msdn.microsoft.com - msdn is a sub domain.

You can automatically create, delete and modify sub domains right from the Server Intellect Unity Control Panel.
