How To: Configure iPhone for POP/IMAP

Enable POP/IMAP email accounts on your iPhone.

1. From the Home screen of your iPhone choose Settings > Mail > Accounts > Add Account, or tap Mail.
   
   
2. Select appropriate account type from the following:
   • Y! Mail (Yahoo!)
   • Gmail
   • Mac
   • AOL
   • Other (SmarterMail)
   
   
3. Enter account information -
   • Email address
   • Server type (POP, IMAP, Exchange)
   • Incoming mail server (ie. "mail.domain.com")
   • Outgoing mail server (ie. "smtp.domain.com")
   • Credentials (outgoing server may not require a username and password)
   • Make sure that the use SSL option is disabled.

NOTE:  The Mail feature in software version 2.0+ can automatically setup popular IMAP/POP email account using just your username and password.
