How can I point a sub-domain to a different IP Address or Server?
If you need to point a sub-domain to another server you should not use the sub-domains icon. Instead you want to use the DNS Zone Editor to add an A record to the appropriate IP address.
For example if you were trying to create the sub-domain support.yourdomain.com:
- Log in to the Control Panel for your Server
- Click on the domain name in the domain name list
- Click on the 'DNS Zone Editor' icon
- Click 'Add New' to add a new DNS record
In this case the fields would look like this: Record Type: A (Host Record) Record Name: support Record Data: IP Address Record Preference: 0 (Leave this zero as it applies to MX records only) That will point support.yourdomain.com to the IP address you specify.
From there you need to set up the server you pointed it to, to answer requests for support.yourdomain.com.

I am VERY happy with the service I receive from Server Intellect. I am 100% confident to recommend your company.
