The process of enabling Parent Paths for sites using Classic ASP has been more simplified in IIS 7 from it’s previous versions.
First, you would log onto the server running IIS via Remote Desktop with as an Administrator.
Once logged on, you would navigate to ‘Start –> Administrative Tools –> Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager‘.
From there, click on the plus sign next to the server name, then click the plus sign next to ‘Sites‘ to expand the list of sites on the server.
Next, click on the site you wish to enable Parent Paths for, to display the configuration options on the center pane. Double click the option for ‘ASP‘.
In the ASP options, there be a setting for ‘Enable Parent Paths‘. Set this from ‘False‘ to ‘True‘, and then click on ‘Apply‘ on the right-hand pane.
Parent Paths are now enabled for your site, and should function properly.
