What is included with Server Intellect's Monthly Proactive Security Maintenance Plan, and how do I enable it?
The Monthly Proactive Security Maintenance plan, or ‘MPSM’ for short, is a useful, automated way of keeping your server current with the latest updates and security patches from Microsoft, and performing full system scans for viruses and malware. When you sign up for MPSM’s, you can select which day of the month you’d like one of our technicians to log into your server and apply any recent software or security updates. They are done during non-peak time hours overnight, as to limit the unfortunate downtime encountered during necessary reboots.
All of our customers with either Dedicated or Virtual Servers have the option of signing up for MPSM’s, and can do so directly through our Unity Customer Portal.
Step 1: Log in to Unity with your Customer ID number and password.

Step 2: Navigate to My Services, and click on My Servers.

Step 3: On the My Servers page, click the Edit link next to the server which you would like to enable the MPSM plan for.

Step 4: Place a check-mark next in the box next to the field which says ‘Select this box to enable Monthly Proactive Security Maintenance’. Now, using the calendar, click on the date which you would like our technicians to perform the MPSM, and select the hour you would like them to begin. This time can be any hour between 12:00 AM EST and 5:00 AM EST. If you would like to enter a note for our technicians, use the Maintenance Notes field. Once the MPSM plan is configured to your liking, click the Update MSPM Preferences.

You have now enabled an MPSM plan for your server. You can disable it at any time by de-selecting the ‘enable Monthly Proactive Security Maintenance’ check box.
