ORLANDO, FL (9/5/2007) – Server Intellect (www.serverintellect.com), a Microsoft Gold Certified provider of advanced Windows-based Shared, Virtual Private Server (VPS) and Dedicated Web hosting solutions, announced today it has introduced a custom-developed service monitoring feature for dedicated servers.
The new feature, which starts at $20/monthly for up to five service monitors, provides customers with the ability to monitor any service or application on their dedicated server, 24 hours a day. If Server Intellect detects that a monitored service or application is not running or responding properly, a ticket is automatically dispatched to the company’s technical support department and corrective action is taken.
“We are bringing technical support to an important new level. With service monitoring, our systems can automatically monitor anything running on a dedicated server – from a mail server to disk space usage or even a specially-developed application,” said Eric Pratt, CEO of Server Intellect. “Instead of customers notifying us that there is a problem with their server, we notify them of the problem first, and by that time it has been fixed.”
Customers select the specific services or applications they want to be monitored, and the status of each is updated approximately every 5 minutes once monitoring has begun. Historical status reports are generated every 15 minutes. Notifications of an unresponsive service can be sent through a multitude of mediums, including email, text message/SMS, instant message, or through an online control panel.
Service monitoring is currently available exclusively to Server Intellect customers.
