Phone Call Authentication Method
The Two-Factor Phone Call Authentication Method is the standard method and most intuitive verification process that works on both mobile and landline phones. In a typical login process using the phone call authentication method, you will login using your initial login credentials. You will be directed to an authentication screen stating that you will receive a phone call shortly. When you receive the call, answer the phone. You will be welcomed and instructed to either hang up the phone to deny the verification or press any number on your keypad to approve the authentication process. Press Any Key on the keypad to continue and complete the login process.
SMS Text Authentication Method
The Two-Factor SMS Text Authentication Method is a convenient way to receive Duo Passcodes through your Mobile Texting Device. In a typical login process using the SMS Text Authentication Method, you will login using your initial login credentials. When you select to use the SMS Text method, you will also need to click a link that will “Send SMS Passcode” to your registered device. You will receive a text message shortly with a list of Two-Factor Passcodes. Choose one of the passcodes and enter it into the Duo Passcode field. Click Submit to complete the login process.
Mobile Application Method
The Two-Factor Mobile App Authentication Method is a great feature to generate Two-Factor bypass codes instantly through your Mobile Smartphone. In a typical login process using the Mobile App Authentication Method, you will login using your initial login credentials. When your login requests a Duo Passcode, go to the Duo Security App. Find the Unity Control Panel or Server login you wish to access and press the Key Button. A Bypass code will be generated. Enter the newly generated Bypass code into the passcode field to complete the login process.
Push Authentication Method
The Two-Factor Push Authentication Method gives you the most control and insight in your verification process and is available only on Mobile Smartphones. In a typical login process using the Push Authentication Method, you will login using your initial login credentials. You will be directed to an authentication screen stating that Notification has been sent to the registered device. You will soon receive a Push Notification on your Smartphone. Tap on the notification to view the Login Request and details. You will have the option to either click Approve or Deny. Click Approve to verify the login and complete the login process.
