This article will explain how to setup Two-Factor Authentication for the Unity Control Panel.
You can setup additional security for Unity Control Panel by adding Two-Factor Authentication to your login process. Start by going to https://unity.serverintellect.com and filling in your Username and Password and click Sign In.
Navigate down the sidebar to My Account and click Account Security. Then click the Two-Factor tab in the main page. Here you can read about Two-Factor and enable/disable Two-Factor Security. Click the Check Box to enable Two-Factor and click Submit.
The page will now refresh and a pop-up modal will prompt you that Two-Factor has been successfully enabled. In order to configure your Two-Factor authentication login, you must Log Out and then Log Back In. Start by Clicking the Logout link in the notifications or by the Username drop down menu in the top right corner.
At the login screen, fill out the form with your Username and Password again. Click Sign In.
You will now by directed to the Two-Factor Security Configuration panel. Here you will designate which phone will receive Two-Factor Verification messages and how you would like to receive them. Start by Choosing your Country under phone details and enter your Phone Number. Under Phone type, select either Mobile or Landline.
You must now verify your phone to ensure that the verification messages are properly being sent. If you selected to use a landline, you must click Call Me. If you chose to use a mobile phone, you can choose Call Me or Text Me. Choose either method and you should receive a verification method shortly after.
Once you have received the verification message, type in the 6 Digit Verification Code and click Verify. Once the code has been verified and approved, click Continue
Step 8 (Optional)
You have now successfully registered your device to receive Two-Factor Authentication messages. If you have an Application enabled Smartphone, you have the option to install and sync Two-Factor Push Authentication onto your phone. If you would like to skip this step, please proceed to Step 10. On the Install Duo Mobile screen, start by clicking Text me the installation link. You will receive a text message directing you to tap a link to download and install the Two-Factor Application. Once the application is installed, Click Continue on the Install Duo Mobile page.
Step 9 (Optional)
Next you will need to activate the application through your smartphone. On your Smartphone’s Two-Factor application home page, you will need to tab the Add Account icon in the top right hand corner of the screen. You will be prompted to “scan the barcode on your computer screen” similar to the image below. When the barcode is registered, your account will be activated and enabled for Two-Factor Push Authentication. On your computer screen, click Continue to proceed.
You will now test your newly enrolled device again in the Two-Factor Security Panel you see during normal login. If it has not selected it for you, Select The Device you want to use under “Log in using”. Choose between the Phone Call or Passcode verification method. If you choose Passcode, click Send SMS passcodes to receive a text message containing your Two-Factor verification passcode.
Once you receive your Two-Factor Verification passcode, type it in the Passcode Field. You can choose to remember the device and passcode for 30 days to streamline the login process. If not, click Log In to complete the login process.
