One of the features of the Unity Control Panel is the ability for automated database restores.
The first step would be to upload your database backup, in ‘.bak’ file format, to the ‘db’ folder for your account via FTP. If you need assistance with creating an FTP account, please contact Support.
Once the backup file has been uploaded, log into the Unity Control Panel, and select ‘My Services‘ from the menu at the top, and then select ‘Hosted Services‘.
Next, select the ‘Database‘ link next to the domain the database is hosted under.
On the next screen, you will see a ‘Backup Database‘ and ‘Restore Database‘ field. Scroll down to the ‘Restore Database‘ field, and click on ‘Get Latest Backups‘ next to where it says ‘Backup From’. You should then see the name of the backup file you uploaded in the drop-down list of available backups. Click on the backup file you uploaded.
Once selected, click the drop-down next to ‘Backup To‘, and select the database you would like the backup file restored to. Once this option is set, click the green ‘Submit‘ button.
After a few moments, you should receive a confirmation at the top of the page that the database has been restored successfully.
Due to timeout issues, .bak files greater than 300 MB will need to be submitted to our technical support team via the Unity Control Panel to restore manually.
If you need any assistance with this process, or encounter any issues, please don’t hesitate to contact our Technical Support Department.
