FileZillas is a free FTP client program used for uploading and downloading files to and from a server, and can be use with any level of our service. The FileZilla client program can be downloaded from the FileZilla Project here. The program is compatible with Windows, Macintosh, and Linux operating systems.
Once installed, open the program, and you will see a list of files in the left-hand window. These are the files on your local system.
At the top of the window, you will see three fields for “Host“, “Username“, and “Password“.
The “Host” field will be the server or domain you are connecting to, such as ‘ftp.yourdomain.com’, or the IP address of the server.
The “Username” field will be your FTP username. For Public Cloud sites, this will also include the hostname, as seen in this Knowledge Base article.
The “Password” field will be your password.
Once all three fields are entered, you can click the “Connect” button on the right hand side of the fields.
Once connected, you should see the right-hand side of the window populate with the Home Directory for your FTP account. From there, you can drag files and folders from the left to the right, and view the upload progress at the bottom of the screen.
