Setting the level of detail in the log files for SmarterMail Version 4 is quite simple, and helpful in troubleshooting mail issues.
Log into SmarterMail as “admin“.
Hover the mouse over the “Settings” tab at the top, and Click on “Log Settings” from the dropdown menu.
Click on the “Log Detail Levels” tab.
You can now change the Detail Level for any of the logs. For troubleshooting most issues, you will want to ensure the “Delivery Log Level” is set to “Detailed”. You may also want to select Detailed for “POP” and “SMTP” Logs to log connections to the server.
Once you have selected the appropriate levels to change, Click “Save” at the top left.
You should now see a message confirming your settings were saved.
